Hot, humid 27C, over 30 with humidity. Calf popped at 8k, walked/ran slowly the rest of the way. Great course, beer and pizza after. Slowest half ever by 11 min, 3rd time running this race.

Good race. PB only because I haven't raced this distance before. 27 humidex. Slower than I thought I would be, next race need to push it out of the comfort zone, haven't done that in a while.

Felt great. Started slow because of sore calf, calf pain was gone by about 20K. Targeted 3:40 at the start of the race. sped up a bit during the middle third, easy part of the course but at 36 really slowed down, no pain, mentally felt good but just did not feel like running. Was able to run in the last couple of K. I think if i set a faster goal I would have hit it. Went into the race prepared to drop out if calf acted up.

Race was about 400m long, it was not a certified course I did not know this before the race. The result was ok, I did not train or even run much since The Toad. I think the course could take a couple of minutes off my pb if I train for it. Unfortunatley I lost motivation for this race and did not train. The organization as far as the kit pick up, busses and the open school to wait at the start were all very good.

Really liked the course, although it is hilly it is quiet, with no cars. With the road closed there are no problems passing people or people stoppng in front of you since the course is two lanes wide. I was not expecting a PB because I havn't really trained for the race. It was a maximum effort. Average heart rate was174, max was 193 (I have never seen my heart rate above 192). Felt like stopping a couple of times, but kept going. Took a couple of small walk breaks at water stations.
