Run A little more walking then running and I blame it on what I was listening to on Spotify. Normally Conan O'Brien needs a friend is comical and fun, but the interview with Goldie Hawn was a much more serious and interesting fare. As I did not want to miss too much, I spent more time focusing on listening rather than concentrating on my run. After run had social visits with three groups, including Jan V who was proudly wearing her Boston Marathon 5 K Community Run Medal, Boston Marathon Medal and now her Abbott 6 Star Medal.

Ran with Renee Shorter for most of the run - slower pace - did the last 4k on my own.

Felt OK during the run. No major complaints, other than some stiffness/soreness near the end.

2FunMay-7 7:30 SunRace 2:04:4821.1km/21.1km5:5510.1Mississauga Half Marathon4I am happy with the results; that are better than expected.

The weather cooperated this morning and it was almost perfect for running. Drove to the start line and parked right by the start line. Had to hang around for an hour or so but the time went by quickly talking with runners I knew and did not know. 7:30 off we went.

No watch with me today; I ran by feel. Felt really good at 5 km and at 8 there were twinges. These continued for the rest of the race. At 10k, the clock showed just over 1 hour and at 20 k it was just over 2 hours. I even ran up the “hill”. It was around 18k where the stiffness and soreness really kicked in and my pace probably dropped some. Made 2 pit stops and one stop to talk briefly to Dino who was cheering us on. A whole bunch of high fives along the way with supporting Connor’s Runners too.

I finished strong(ish) which is good for me of late. Crossing the finish line that’s when I started moving much more slowly as it was hard to put my heal down and my hips/IT bands sore.

So, on to Ottawa and looking to get as good or better a run in up there.
