Very poor hydration yesterday resulted in a very tired run. Didn't realize the humidity was sneaking up quickly, so maybe that factored into it, too. No excuses, though. Need to make sure to drink enough water.

Just kind of running whenever I feel like it right now, but can feel the need to bump it up to 4 or 5 regular weekly runs. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing.

Mist turned the prairie into an ocean, with a little stand of trees an island. Stunning sunrise. Great feeling run, too.

Felt wonderful this morning. The conditions were perfect. There was an ever-so-slight breeze. The birds were chirping. The sun was waking up over abundant prairie fields. There were few cars and few mosquitoes. There were no carcasses. (There was, however, some 'dump burning' smoke in the air, but it was only noticeable at the turnaround).

Was somewhat asleep when I started out then found myself in a great 'zone' at 40 min...no negative chatter, just one of those 'lose yourself' runs, one of those runs when you feel like you could run forever.

40 min run (no rain)
5 min walk (rain)

Ran with music for the first time since starting to run again, which inspired some strides at the end of the run. Not a great idea as I was quickly reminded how poor my fitness is and that I have zero power. Mentally, though, I guess it's always a good thing when, after 35 minutes of running, your brain goes "Hey, let's try some fast running!" ... even if your body goes, "Um. No." :)

Thinking base building will be in order for another 3 months before it's wise to try anything faster than EP.

Couldn't run Tuesday as something came up. Then wanted to run yesterday, but it was a 45C feel...and we were hunkered down due to a tornadic thunderstorm.

Today felt much better outside, but it is still tough running in this heat & humidity w/ so little fitness and no shade. Grateful to get out there, nonetheless. Might try for a little run tomorrow.

Good run, save the rain (that's why today got an 'OK'). Wish it would stop...

Humid run w/ 100% relative humidity. It stormed all night and skies remained sketchy this AM, making it a challenge to roll out of bed. Run good otherwise.

5FunJul-9 20:00 SatJog-Easy 41:000.0Birds Hill Provincial ParkJogged the beach path (2 min?) as Ryan swam the length of the pond and back again. Ran a little quicker with Ryan through a mock transition (30 sec?).

Then ran with Ryan in the rain for 38:30 around the pond and through the woods. Fun to run to the rhythms of the Folk Fest (which turned out to be 'Ben Caplan & the Casual Smokers' and 'Alan Doyle & the Beautiful Gypsies').

2 x (Wild Grape Trail + Elm Trail)

Slippery, muddy run due to heavy rain yesterday. Had to walk through the very muddy section again (aka swamp - about 200m in total) and couldn't get through that section fast enough (mosquitoes!). Mud on 70% of the course.

Nothing bothersome in the way of sore spots. Back seems to be on the mend.
