Run Went to Running Room Run Club early with Cam as I thought him and Audra were going to do the Abbott 1 Mile Time Trial before Run Club. Ended up doing a walk with a lady named Marcia, It was a good walk filled with great conversation despite the cold, wet snow rain mix that was dampening everyone's mood.

Movati Athletic Even though I was up at 5am, as usual, waffles in bed til about 8:30am before getting my s@rry @$$ up and headed to the Club ... ever since my Saturday Hot Yogi left Kanata for Nepean, on early January, have been trying different classes etc, so today decided to do an hour or so in the pool and hot tub, before doing the 75 min Yan-Yan Yoga class ..

Class was really relaxing with a bit of Yan then a bit of Yin .... also, learned the downward froggie hop to squat move :) ... think I may have found my new Saturday morning routine, perhaps ??

Movati Athletic Had a nice 75 min Hot Yin Yoga this afternoon then my weekly swim lesson at Movati ... starting to see some improvements every week now ... able to swim a length at a time with front crawl, breast stroke and a quasi back stroke now ... interesting when I rush my stroke, it actually makes me go slower and intend to hyperventilate more frequently, while if I slow down the stroke and glide and take less strokes breathing is more relaxing and I seem to go faster, well relatively more efficient? Ha!!!

Now, if I can start that running thing again, may be able to do the Earlybird Tri-a-Tri or Sprint Tri, as it is a swimming pool and only 100m? Hmmm !!

Movati Athletic Back to Movati this afternoon for round 2. Ha!!

Nice 45 min swim practice... able to do a length now without any aids, albeit slow, for front crawl, backstroke and breast stroke (though think it is a hybrid between breast and frog? Ha) .... then, a relaxing 75 min Hot Yin Yoga class... :)

Movati Athletic Had a nice 75 min Hot Yin Yoga class this evening, followed by week 4 of swim lessons ...

Able to swim a length of the pool still, sans any aids :) .. Instructor showed us the whip kick tonight in order to give us another alternative to learn the whole treading water thing, but for whatever reason, I am just not getting it, as the hip tends to sink? Hmm, then she introduced the breast stroke.. weird thing was that I was also having difficulty figuring it out as well, while using a noodle or belt, but once I was able to slow down the stroke and glide in the water as the kick push through, everything appeared to just click by the end? Hmmm weird, eh!!

Looking forward to return to the pool again on the weekend and practice that stroke again? :)
